Kevin Keegan had initially joined Fulham as the club’s Chief Operating Officer but in the summer of 1998 he took over the reigns as manager and set about transforming the fortunes of the club.

With significant new signings like Chris Coleman and Paul Peschisolido in place, the Craven Cottage club were a class above the rest of the third tier and ran away with the title acquiring more than 100 points in the process. It was to be a bittersweet season for Keegan who was lured away to manage England at the end of this successful season.
