Mike Walker took charge as Norwich City manager in 1992 and immediately drove a significant upswing in fortunes for the Carrow Road club. Norwich led the inaugural 1992-93 Premier League campaign for much of the season before falling away towards the end to finish in third place, a highest ever top flight finish and a passport to European football for the first time. The Canaries enjoyed a wonderful UEFA Cup run the following season with the highlight a memorable 2-1 away win in the Olympiastadion against Bayern Munich thanks to goals from Jeremy Goss and Mark Bowen.
