The 1992-93 season would be the last for RKC Waalwijk with legendary coach Leo van Veen in charge. He had taken the club up to the Eredivisie and established them in the top half of the table - this season would bring a fourth successive top ten finish.

This strong campaign was driven by the 17 League goals of newly arrived striker Marco Boogers who made a great impression in his debut season. This was a team with a strong spine starting from Herman Teeuwen in goal and featuring near ever-presents like Marco van Hoogdalem in defence and Rob Maas and Marcel Brands in midfield.
