Badly Drawn Footballers

Badly Drawn Footballers

When Sean Ryan started drawing fashion models badly, he had no idea that one day his work would become a viral internet sensation. Thanks to Calvin Klein and various famous models, who loved their strangly looking caricatures, his work was published in many fashion magazines. Luckily enough Sean started drawing footballers as well and since we love his work, we teamed up with him. Decide for yourself, but we never knew badly drawn artwork could look so good.

The shirts have been added to our collection and are available in our webshop and in our Flagshipstore in Amsterdam.

COPA x Aberdeen FC

Having been runners-up on all three domestic fronts in 1993/94, things looked positive for Aberdeen for the following season but a rebuild of the team based on a host of new signings backfired horribly. Skonto Riga performed an early version of Brexit on the Dons and by mid-January, a first ever relegation looked horribly possible, the mood worsened by more Cup humiliation at the hands of Stenhousemuir. But there was still time to turn the ship around and, ultimately, Roy Aitken masterminded the great escape - just - in an end of season rollercoaster that squeezed every possible emotion from the Red Army. From there, the only way was up and the following season the recovery was complete when, in November 1995, Aberdeen won the Coca-Cola League Cup, famously beating Rangers in the semi-finals before despatching Dundee at a half-redeveloped Hampden in the final.

COPA x SK Rapid Wien

COPA x SK Rapid Wien

Rapid Vienna approached the 1976-77 season determined to bring the Bundesliga title back to the club for the first time since 1968. However the power in the Austrian game during much of the 1970s lay in the Tyrollean capital of Innsbruck and SSW proved too strong and too consistent, beating Rapid to the title by a six point margin and also eliminating the Vienna club from the main cup competition. Trophies may not have been forthcoming for Rapid but goals certainly were. Helmut Koglberger and Johann Krejcirik both hit double figures, but the division´s goalscoring sensation once again was the international centre forward Hans Krankl who fired home 32 in 35 League games.

COPA x A.F.C. DWS

There are certain major football cities that feel like one-club towns, so dominant are the headline clubs based there. So is Amsterdam, but the Dutch capital once had a varied club scene. In 1964, DWS even became the only club in Dutch history to become champions as a newly-promoted side. This still makes them the last ever Dutch champions, not playing in red and white.
