Buenos Aires T-shirt by Gaston Perez Mazas

Buenos Aires T-shirt by Gaston Perez Mazas

When the opportunity arose to collaborate with filmmaker and photographer Gaston Perez Mazas (@gastypm) to bring one of his amazing pictures alive on a T-shirt, we jumped at the chance.

On Tuesday the 20th of December, 2022, Messi & Co. were welcomed home as heroes by a staggering 4 million people in the streets of Buenos Aires while bringing the cup back to Argentina after 36 years. Unsurprisingly the nation wide festivities reached their zenith at the Avenida 9 De Julio; The wide avenue commemorating Argentina’s independence would now poetically be the stage upon which the people of Buenos Aires would celebrate Messi definitively claiming his independence from another Argentinian legend of the game.

Football and music – two forms of art that share a mission of bringing people together throughout the world and have built up a synergetic relationship over the years. At COPA these cultural scenes have come together in the form of collaborations with the likes of Sir Elton John, Pearl Jam, Metallica & Martin Garrix. The latest addition to this line-up is none other than German Techno legend Paul Kalkbrenner.

Together with Kalkbrenner we have designed and produced a football shirt that captures the essence of his identity as both an artist and avid football lover.
